Do you feel it? The hum and buzz of pollinators filling the air?

We are thrilled that you'll be joining us for our sixth year of Utah Pollinator Pursuit! Your observations support the development of species habitat maps, updated conservation rankings, and science-driven recovery strategies for Utah's Rare Insect Conservation Program - thank you!

We invite you to join us on Saturday, May 4, 2024 for our upcoming project training, where you'll learn everything you need to document and log pollinator observations through iNaturalist!

Sign-ups for our volunteer training day close on April 24th, so if you haven't had a chance to sign up yet, please take a moment to do so now!

2024 Volunteer Training

Join project leads and fellow pollinator enthusiasts to dive into the importance of this work, gain in-the-field ID skills for our species of interest, and learn how to log observations in iNaturalist. Beverages, light snacks, and lunch will be included for all registered participants. Training materials will be available in English and Spanish.

The training will be hosted on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 12:45pm-2pm at the George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Wildlife Education Center in Farmington, UT.

Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions about accessibility or accommodation requests.

Unable to attend in person? That's okay! Training videos and resources will be available on the project page following the event.

Thank you to Kristen Vardanega (@littletinyegg) for designing our 2024 Utah Pollinator Pursuit sticker!

These collectable honeycomb stickers are a small token of appreciation for the volunteers who make this work possible! Bee 🐝 sure to grab one at the volunteer training or at future events!

Meet our 2024 Volunteers of the Year

2023 Pollinator Outreach Volunteer of the Year: Alhondra Lopez

Since her time as a communications intern with us, Alhondra has gone on to lead conservation campaigns and support wildlife through her art. Last year, she joined Sageland for several outreach events to share the joy of pollinators with communities across Utah.

2023 Pollinator Observation Volunteer of the Year: Anna Jackson

Anna also served as an intern on the Sageland team before volunteering, becoming familiar with hands-on restoration and data collection. Anna logged an astonishing 72 bumble bee and monarch observations last year!

2023 Overall Volunteer of the Year: Julia Dalesandro

Julia embodies the spirit of connectivity across our projects. Last year, Julia observed rosy-finches, built beaver dam analogs, surveyed for boreal toads, created habitat for pollinators and logged 58 pollinator observations!
